I love exploring and photographing gardens while traveling throughout the year, from large world-famous gardens such as Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, South Africa to colouful designer gardens like the beautiful Jardin Majorelle, Morocco, and more. When not traveling, you will find me enjoying a wander through local gardens, reading about gardens and gardening etc. I am thrilled to have received a copy of The Joy of Exploring Gardens book by Lonely Planet, including 60 travel experiences to uplift and inspire. So excited to share it with you.
The Joy of Exploring Gardens - Lonely Planet: Book Review
About Lonely Planet
"We believe that travel is for everyone. It helps us learn about ourselves and the world around us.
Our goal is to help more people from more backgrounds experience the joy of exploration. Because we believe this builds a kinder, more inclusive, more open-minded world.
Like you, travel is in our DNA. At Lonely Planet, we believe travel opens the door to the greatest, most unforgettable experiences life can offer. And we have learned that the best travel is about putting yourself out there, about leaving behind the everyday, about immersing yourself, rather than just seeing the sights.
As travelers, you're on a journey, and at Lonely Planet, we're on one, too. Over the last two years, travel has transformed. We're thinking deeply not just about how we travel but why we travel and how to best serve travelers on their journey – and we approach our 50th year with a passion and commitment to helping others do it, too" - Lonely Planet

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Joy of Exploring Gardens with its beautiful photographs and discovering gardens I have yet to visit including hidden gems that are still mostly known by the locals such as Wendy's garden, part of the peaceful Lavender Bay Parks, Sydney, Australia. Amazed and excited to discover the human-sized bird's nest woven from Kubu cane, that you too can climb into and observe the wildlife. Gardens that have been created in sinkholes to extinct volcano craters and those that have been built with the remains of 26 demolished villages! It was also fun to revisit gardens that I have loved visiting such as Monet's House & Garden, Giverny, France. There is also so much inspiration, knowledge, history, and more. I hope you enjoy reading The Joy of Exploring Gardens, as much as I have.
