Cook Your Way Around The World

Cook In Milano

While in Milan why not experience one of the local cooking classes to make your own pizza, pasta, and dessert? There are a variety of classes to choose from and these can be pre-booked via Tripadvisor, Airbnb, and Get Your Guide. I can't recommend the Cook In Milano experience enough, it was a great evening, making delicious food, with amazing company and then we all sat together with wine parings chatting and eating. Hosted in a traditional family home in the heart of Milan with a professional Italian Chef. The small group of six meant each of us got ample opportunity to get hands-on experience while preparing the three-course meal including pizza, tagliatelle, and tiramisu. The kitchen was a hive of activity from dough making, to chopping up fine fresh ingredients, with some grown on the balcony! Before we knew it, it was time to sit down and enjoy the fruits of our labour. What a great evening it was. Home and proud with a certificate as well as, the essential cooking instructions. I still have yet to cook them at home but it's definitely something I will be doing in the near future.

Chapatis In Nepal

While traveling in Nepal, I decided to lodge at a local homestay in the 100-year-old historic town of Panauti. Located just over an hour away from the bustling city of Kathmandu. It's a world away, in the lush green countryside. The rural town has many temples and medieval terracotta architecture.

In the evening it was time to make chapatis a stable part of most meals. This Asian bread or type of roti dates back more than 6000 years.

Champion women at this local homestay, part of a community project for women by women. An incredible experience!

I hope you have enjoyed reading and are inspired to take a local cooking class the next time you are visiting another country. As always, if you have any comments/questions. Please do get in touch in the usual ways. Until next time, happy travels:) x
