Two of the most common New Year goals are losing weight (44%) and improving diet (41%) (Source: Statista 2020) but around 25% (Source: YouGov 2021) of us fail to keep our resolutions. So, what can you do to ensure you stick to your New Year eating goals? Dr Bunmi goes into depth in her new book - Craving Freedom.
Start with where you are now; create a clear picture of where you want to be; find your why; recognise you are in control; the five questions you need to answer when setting your intentions; SMART goals; discover your triggers; mindful eating; remove distractions; eat in a positive space; gratitude for your food; share your meals; plan your meals around your week and your triggers; and be kind to yourself.
Craving Freedom Book Review
I have no issue admitting that I have a sweet tooth. So when I was given the opportunity to review Craving Freedom, I was excited to read it and delve deeper into my own psyche. At the beginning, of the book, Dr. Bunmi goes into detail about various addictions and how these can actually be inherited. The book is very interesting but also dark!
I can imagine it being difficult asking for help and a book is an easier source to get the information you need. Though this book encourages you to get professional help.
I haven't managed to complete reading Craving Freedom at this time but I am keen to read more. Will update you asap with my conclusion.
