Scottish Autumn Experiences

You might think of New England when you think of the fall colours but Scotland puts on an almighty show! Here are some Scottish Autumn Experiences not to be missed!

One of the best ways to experience Scotland in autumn and all that it has to offer, is exploring the great outdoors. Scotland has an abundance of great places to walk, from local parks to historical palaces and gardens.

There are many areas around Scotland with incredible views such as Queen's View, Scott's View and those across the breathtaking loch's & glens. One of my favourite places to visit is that of Aberfeldy, Kenmore & Loch Tay with not only spectacular autumn colours, scenery and wildlife. Callendar Park is located in the town of Falkirk, 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh. It's over 170 acres of wood and parklands, with an incredible 14th-century style French chateau in the centre. As well as an incredible place for walks, the house is well worth a visit! The refurbished Georgian kitchen is a must-see, if not open for visitors stop by the tea room, where you can enjoy some of the many delights that are made on-site.

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh was founded in 1670 but is not in the same location as it was then. Today located a 20-minute walk from Princes Street, down in the village of Inverleith. The garden not only has an incredible history but is a living archive of the world's plants and trees. It is amazing to visit no matter what the time of year but autumn is one of my favourites, with its seasonal colourful displays. Don't miss the Chinese Hillside, with its impressive crossing bridges and new Chinese Pavilion. The cafe also serves decadent hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows and a selection of herbal fruit teas.
